Coach Kerry

Kerry Whitson is originally from Dayton, Ohio and swam under head coach Kevin Weldon, an NC State swimming alum with the Dayton Raiders. During her years as an age group swimmer, Kerry had many Junior National qualifying times and in 2003 finished second in the 200-yard freestyle at the spring Junior Nationals. She also swam under Centerville High School’s head coach Mark Davis, who coached her to several HS All-American accolades. Kerry swam mid-distance freestyle for NC State from 2003-2007 where she was awarded All-ACC recognition for finishing 3rd at the 2006 ACC championships in College Park, Maryland in the 200 yard freestyle. As a senior in the 2006-2007 swimming season, she was captain of the swim team. Kerry is still finishing school at NC State, graduating in May 2008 with a degree in Biological Sciences.
